Coherent OS
 ===========

 This was my first home UN*X, I purchased it to replace MS-DOS.
 The hard-copy book was well worth the price.

 I ported my homegrown utilities from DOS to IN/ix then to
 Coherent.  Later, many of these would end up in my repository.
 Most of my current Utilities had their start on Coherent.

 In 1995 the company closed down, so I ended up moving to
 Slackware.  I think the main reason for the closure was a
 combination of no TCP and Linux.  I consider this the first
 proprietary OS Linux killed off.
