The Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company enters the Canadian market 
under the name of International Business Machines Co., Limited.

American Automatic Scale Co. of Chicago, a manufacturer of heavy 
capacity scales, is acquired. Its name is changed to International Scale 
Company, and it is absorbed by the Computing Scale Company.

C-T-R opens an office in Brazil.
