That's fantastic! I've noticed in my travels online that as
   people become more and more connected, the world is flattening
   its hierarchies and people are becoming (overall) more likely to
   see each other as equals that deserve empathy rather than
   sympathy (or at worst, pity). Of course, it might just be that I
   tend to attract ppl who are the empathic rather than
   sympathetic/pity or even uncaring ...- and so my worldview is
   warped in its favor). Still, I think the interconnectedness of
   the internet - something nerds like me wrote and dreamed about
   in middle/high school/college - even from before the Internet
   when I was on BBS' - is successfully causing us to see each
   other in a different light. We have access to information in
   other parts of the world that was impossible before... and I
   have great hopes for future generations. The future really... "
