I agree! I remember IRC. It's still around believe it or not
   just as strong as it ever was. It survived all the turmoil
   through the years, and its technology continues to pop up in
   newer sites... as chat rooms VERY SLOWLY start to find their way
   back into the 'net. Right now, it's mostly with regards to games
   and with twitch.tv (which is a gamers livestreaming video
   network) the chat rooms cont...inue on, linked to the
   livestream."
