For me, I tend towards cats. They all seem to like me and I
   understand their behavior. Dogs - it depends on the breed. Yet
   some people understand dogs as well as I 'get' cats. You also
   have bird people, lizard people, ferret/gerbil ppl... and then
   you have ppl who don't have much use for pets at all. "
