Nicholas Alexander BuckendorfIn the past I've looked into OS experiments that were state-saving machines; and even downloaded one in the early 00's - a WIP by a Russian programmer - which had no files/folders; programs and data were treated the same; infinite UNDO - or time travel to any past point of the computer's state instantly - even a spot in the middle of a program load; because, there was no program loading. Just states. Truly marvelous - I believe it was called Phantom... and, alas, last time I looked for it, I couldn't find it again; the OS sample I had downloaded sits on a hard drive in a drawer that I have yet to get a USB HD reading case for. *sigh* "
