Wow. Scary.* Stumbling upon a "theory of mind" that I can work with; Embodied Cognition - the concept that we fundamentally think in metaphors; and that metaphors are ultimately based upon our physical interaction with the world:* apparently I'm not alone. 3 years ago, IARPA, the USA's gigantic computational spy program, issued a call for vendors to help them start "The Metaphor Program": The Metaphor Program will exploit the fact that metaphors are pervasive in everyday talk and reveal the underlying beliefs and worldviews of members of a culture. and yeah... they're working on it: [1]http://www.iarpa.gov/index.php/research-programs/metaphor I'm not into spy stuff; but stumbling upon [2]#embodiedcognition felt quite eye-opening to me; and because I'd never heard of it, of course I felt like it was "my discovery" lol - and apparently, for every great concept, there's always some military strategy that comes out of it.* It probably has the best chance of success for a "mind-reading" program that anyone has ever come up with, should they be successful; and they will.
