Facebook / email CAN bring people closer in some ways -
   especially for introverted people like myself who find it much
   easier for there to be a barri...er of some sort. I was big on
   the CB radio as a teenager - loved it because I didn't have to
   worry if my breath stank that night, my clothes were just right,
   etc. BBS's and chat rooms in the 90's were great for the same
   reason - and I pursued a number of relationshiips where the
   'dating' was online, then long convos on the phone, then,
   perhaps meeting, etc. Getting to know the person within is
   important to me and hard to discover face to f... "
