Fear --> suspicion --> paranoia --> isolation --> obsession -->
   anger --> hate --> planning vengance --> insanity (if you don't
   act on it) / jail time (if you do) / a pox on your soul. The
   suffering happens in the whole process. This is how I see the
   chain anyhow.
