Very true. Well, it's a lot like bars. I like canadian whiskey (rye) every couple of months. Easy to drink, easy to mix. Tried a number of cheap brands. Many disappointments. Then I noticed a few years ago what a few different bars used to mix their whiskey sours with. Always Canadian LTD. Not the cheapest, but cheaper than most. So I bought it, and I like it. Tastes the same as Seagram's 7 but at a lower price. I imagine restaurants do the same thing, right alongside the (yuck, yuck) 5 gallon bucket of mayonaise (yuck, yuck barf). But a good restaurant you're paying for a good cook who could do anything with any ingredients. "
