yeah, pinker. Read a couple of his books a few years ago. I'm a total fan, although he's a little too hard-core atheist (I don't care a person's religious beliefs - a good scientific theory should rest on its own merits, built upon prior scientific works, not to be measured against religion, politics, sports. When a scientist does this, it takes away from his/her credibility. A perfect example of ...the right way to do it is how it was done in Contact (movie - never read his book). A good scientist recognizes his/her own faith in the scientific method and technology as being an accurate method for measuring reality, rather than just accepting that "This Is So", 'cause then its just another form of blind faith.
