There's different levels of investigation.* The meme appears to assume much about the style of investigation.* That's where it gets into philosophy... although discerning the nature of Truth really never leaves the philosophical schools; it just finds application within our cultures, depending on our philosophical 'bent' at the time. Actually, there's everything wrong with the Meme really. What's the nature of the Investigation?* There's several methods of inquiry; experiential, philosophical, evidence, reason, consensus, opinion, hypothesis, thought experiment, mathematical, linguistic, subjective, objective, historical, heuristics... . What's rejection?* Is it denial?* Is it stopping because one has gone as far as someone feels they can using the tools they have at hand?* At every stopping point, there seems to always be someone else who says, "You didn't go far enough!" (not a bad thing in my opinion, although sometimes annoying to be on the receiving end of it!) To me, "refuse to investigate" in the context of this Meme implies, "Looking at it from my perspective".* This Meme could be used from any ideology who is arguing against another ideology. [hence, why I find ideologies helpful but splitting up the world into "ideas vs reality" Platonic style can be annoying sometimes when ppl forget that we live within a culture with a history and a lot of assumptions about reality go unchecked, making some of the argumentative Bumper Stick Memes seem... not very well thought out... just clever]
