While some killings and issues are certainly real, there is also
   a lot of exaggeration and "shows of power". The West tends to
   believe whatever Media says, and extremist groups who want to be
   heard use that to their advantage. All a group has to do is
   stand up and say "It was us!" and we tend to take them at their
   word.

   There's an awkward mix of lies and truths from both sides with
   media eating up every bit of it. Political and war-type
   responses won't surprise me.

   I blame the educated bystanders like us though. We insert
   significance to events, and connect dots together and form a
   picture and say, "This is bigger than one single event!"

   For groups that are attempting to appear bigger than they are,
   this, they enjoy.

   But, we are easily led by Media, movies, stories of history,
   educated people. In these situations, everything appears to be
   happening at once, and a single event is replayed over and over
   again, whenever we discuss it, show it, talk about it. We give
   it Life and make it live longer than the actual event.

   12 people killed 12 people.

   12 people need to be caught and brought to justice using
   appropriate civil laws.

   Anything beyond that, is people talking.

   All that talking, will eventually lead to a foot soldier (and
   the terrorists who do the killings are foot soldiers, NOT the
   people in charge. They're just grunts). Foot soldiers, if they
   make it alive, come home with mental problems. Or if killing
   themselves is part of the tradition, they don't come home.

   Everybody else? Is either talking about it, giving orders -
   which is just talking, or... maybe building weapons.

   The actual fighting time is short.

   The rest of the time? Waiting. Most of war is just waiting.
   After the fighting event, the survivors go home, have dinner and
   go to bed. Just like all other humans.

   And the people living in the area? They still have to go to
   work, put on their ties and continue with their lives.
