I understand. I happen to enjoy the chaos that ensues when
   people talk past each other * and then I get to be the marvelous
   "voice of reason" that ties everybody together and both sides go
   "oh, Kenneth, you are so wise".

   I do it simply for the ego strokes. But also, I enjoy the
   process of trying to comprehend different people speaking in
   multiple contexts simultaneously.

   And sometimes I make pointless debates with worthy adversaries
   to cause that to happen * which makes me a bit of a prick at
   times. I can claim it - even believe it myself * that I'm doing
   it for a noble purpose (The betterment of myself * the
   betterment of others * the betterment of all) * but I suspect
   it's just for the entertainment value * and I enjoy the company.
