#1: Thought Collector. Been working on that since I was 11 yrs old. So many others. I look at technology not with amazement but how far it has yet to go. Drives me nuts. Where's touch sensitive display paint? Just requires silicon as the carrier ('cause it's always rubbery) powered by light and movement (kinetics / quartz crystal stuff], embedded copper and carbon dots (maybe aluminum... not as conductive but less prone to patina)... and have it self-organize using electron charges and sizes of particles in such a way that they will assemble into the proper layers for a functioning touch screen and display. The colors would be handled by reflection; not backlit - there's plenty of ambient light around and you can paint it on surfaces that are backlit (or mirrored) if you *really* need the extra brightness. Tables floors, ceilings, buildingd, cars, everything can be a touch display. So obvious to me... nobody's done it. I'll die before I see it. Or at LEAST wallpaper/table coverings (embed everything ahead of time in some kind of resin or plastic - whatever). touch displays should be cheap enough that they can be printed on PAPER at least.. and thrown out or recycled. Get rid of these damn computers and phones already. If I want a 100" TV, slap it up on a wall. Done. Or the floor. Ok, I'm missing a few details... but damn, we're so far behind in technology. But instead we go "ooh and ahh" over little nothing changes they keep making to existing equipment. Ugh. Sorry for the rant. I was mad that the pocket computers that connected everybody to everybody else didn't exist in the early 80s when I was a in middle school. And I kept waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Found the Internet. ok, part way there. Had a Handspring visor (palm pilot clone) - ok, that was close. But it wasn't 'til my iPhone where I was like, "FINALLY YOU GUYS ARE GETTING SOMEWHERE". But it's still primitive to me. Ugh. Sorry for the rant.
