Before passing on the phone duties to my sister-in-law, I depended on voice-mail for our business.* In fact, I preferred to let things to go voice-mail. Why?* Google Voice. Google Voice transcribes what they say to text, and emails or txts it to me, wherever I am.* I never had to actually listen to anybody.... unless they didn't speak clearly or something. Google Voice will probably be one of those Labs experiments that will eventually just poof disappear.* But I got about 7-8 years straight of archived voice to text transcriptions of voicemails saved for the business - thousands of them, along with corresponding MP3 files archived. For archivalists like myself, it is (and probably will be a was) a nicely done system.
