#ManRules AT some point in your life, learn to cut wood and glue stuff together. Learn how to make a door. Hinges. A latch. Made this attic trapdoor about 12 years ago. Strips of wood. I used TITEBOND II wood glue. Clamped each piece separately 'til it dired, moved on to the next, until it was big enough to fit the hole I bashed through the ceiling so we could get up in our attic. The latch is an old curtain rod thing. The whole thing is ridiculous. Yet, it keeps the attic heat from coming down into the air conditioned Florida house. I hated painting it though. It looked so beautiful as wood. Wasn't my choice; following orders. But I only painted the part that shows. I left the attic side naked though. Why? To me, the attic is our brain - our inner thoughts, feelings. We should feel free to think whatever we want to, even if we have to "paint" our outer selves - the part we show the world, our social side... pretend to "blend in". But your attic is your own. And... learning to work with wood is one of those things that makes you "feel like a man". I still hate handheld circular saws though. I use them but don't like them. I have one I like a lot that you just put the wood on, bring the saw down and cut the wood with. No saw blade attached to my hand - I don't wanna chop my leg off or something :P The tldr version: ok, I can blend in but that doesn't change "me" because I'm always free in my attic and I can be honest with myself (the unpainted side)"[1]10421290_757744102808_4783415647418200250_n References Visible links 1. http://icopiedyou.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/10421290_757744102808_4783415647418200250_n.jpg
