Well I don't read poetry - and I actually resist the temptation to write it - I would write poetry all day if I allowed myself to. Long ago, I decided to incorporate poetry into prose, resisting the need to rhyme, have meter, and such. I _want_ to do all of those things, but I also want to speak the language of regular people. I also stay away from fiction as well... and it's helped me see how much of what we construe of reality _is_ a constructed fiction for our own benefit...- and how all knowledge is stories, whatever the form. There's no real line between fiction and reality; fiction speaks to non-fiction things, which is how we comprehend it at all - and non-fiction is full of plausable connections between things and yet, if one is to prick beneath the surface of anything non-fiction - even mathematics... there''s always another digit... always another perspective missed... rendering the whole thing, from an 'everything' point of view... fictional as well. In short, no different. All in the application of it.
