I stressed over writing. Perfection. Years. Finally decided F'it. Take what you got, how it is, publish. So I did a time challenge - learn to publish and do it as fast as possible. [1]http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ntt_athr_dp_sr_1... 1.5 hrs for 1st book, 45 minutes for the second. I had the stuff already. One was a database DUMP. That's all it is. Messy as hell. The other was just a quick table of contents and a few select bits that I liked at the time. Just had to sort of format it for Kindle using whatever free software I could find (it's all text, just a matter of translating from one format to another)... and just get it done. I gave myself 20 minutes to write the book and the rest for publishing. It was copying/pasting in my case (or doing an Access database dump and formatting minimally) Once they were up there... poorly formatted, badly put together... I could relax. I can legitimately say I am an Author, because I am and I didn't get the heart-wrenching part of it. [I didn't want to go through my heart getting shredded by publisher problems and stuff... or having the first books not sell after all my hard work]. Then, when I'm FINALLY done collecting everything for THE BOOK (or the family of books), I know the process. I can do it. The part that's left? Marketing and Advertising and lots of self-promotion. Since I'm not ready for that step, at least I know how to do the other steps. Lots of wasted years stressing out.
