His words, deeds, ideas, his personhood, everything he ever shared with you and you knew of him forms what I think of as living machines in your mind that creates new things. It's not static like a photo album. More akin to a tapestry weaving machine that is always working. He lives on for as long as you do - and even more than that - the parts of him you have shared with us here on Facebook lives on in me and in others as well. I not only have his image in my mind, more importantly, I have his character, seen through the lens of my friend Heather, which creates associations in my mind and begins an unconscious set of processes within me. We never die, not really. I believe that firmly. That "something" that makes each of us unique, the impressions and thoughts and feelings we create in others, lives, breathes, talks, feels, thinks. Yet, there may be more than that still. Does he hear you? With my whole heart, I believe the answer is a strong Yes. Can he speak to you? Yes. All you have to do is ask yourself, "What would he say right now? What would he do? How would he feel? What would he be thinking?" And you know what he would say. Because he's there. His music continues to play forever, performed by the orchestra in your mind and the composer continues to compose new creations thanks to two very magical words: "What would..."
