Yeah. Spotlight-on-you. They think they're being nice but the feeling it generates is "ok, just go away now". I grew my hair long. The very first time someone complimented me on it I thought to myself, "THAT'S IT, I'M CUTTING IT. I DON'T WANT YOUR APPROVAL - GO AWAY". I didn't cut it... but for a split second the urge to chop it all off was right there. I understand the "not okay" feeling. I don't like good or bad things pointed out about my appearance unless *I ask*. Then tell me Unless it's like, "Dude, your beard matches your eyes!" because then it's a woah moment. I like woah moments... but they're different. But the "HEY I NOTICED SOMETHING REALLY OBVIOUS ABOUT YOU AND I'M GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT" is annoying
