Oh yes, legally. But it's the law that I'm critiquing. The personhood of corporations is an American construct of law - and not likely to change anytime and courts have wrestled with - as well as occasionally skirting around - the concept of the artificial person. it's something we made up and use, but it's a made up thing just the same, given as much much power as we choose to give it. Fascinating subject to me. A single stroke of a pen by a human, can render the entire personhood construct of the corporation in American business null and void. Scribbles on paper by a person. [flesh and blood] Other countries don't have corporate personhood. I remember being shocked when I learned of it at some point. It was similar to my Real Estate shock (when I was going to be a Real Estate agent; a _very_ short lived idea; I got 30 hours into the class before I realized... no no not for me). Had a few shocks here. My favorite was part of the definition of Real Estate. It reaches to the center of the earth and up into space. But... the deed holder doesn't get first dibs on it. Layers, layers, so many layers.
