Why people get caught up in conspiracy theories...
   Well, I have an ex-CIA (retired) neighbor down the street. He's
   certain he's being monitored and takes safeguards. Is he? Not
   likely. We live out in nowhereland. But possible? Sure.

   And it's the possibility that gives his life meaning.

   Conspiracy theories give ppls lives MEANING... and life makes
   sense. "We're all part of a MASTER PLAN" engineered by:

   a) God
   b) People
   c) Scientific Principles
   d) Reason
   e) Pick something else

   and because the conspiracy believer KNOWS about it - they're IN
   ON IT.. they're PART OF IT... THEY KNOW THE SECRETS!

   Life = Meaningful.

   I think it's mostly harmless fun, unless they start stocking up
   guns and supplies. Then it gets creepy.
