I consider my own perspective of self no more valid than anybody
   else's perspective of me.

   BUT...

   because I'm the the one typing here... I can speak with
   authority from 'in here'. [from about 7 inches behind my
   eyeballs, maybe 2 inches down, in a little circuit... that's
   where I am].

   Being an authority doesn't make me right. Just... well, an
   authority. Authorities can be wrong and often are.
