Mockery is close; I just hadn't thought of it in that term but
   it makes sense.

   I was thinking more in terms of "banter" but mockery and banter
   _do_ share the same conceptual space, the difference being
   triscuit vs frosted wheats.
   One salty, one sweet. They seem different but they're
   fundamentally the same.
   Both whole wheat biscuits.
