I believe "One True Love" is a bit of a myth. Through most of
   human culture, marriages were arranged things. Even among the
   rich in all countries in the West, and in the US South, a form
   of arranged marriages has always gone on.

   Accidental Love that leads to partnership is a nice modern myth.

   20th century movies]... but some form of arrangement, and
   financial and/or political motives is the norm among humans.
   Gold-digging is a result of women not having the social
   structure to support the process, that's all. That doesn't make
   it a pleasant thing to face bluntly, but it's normal.
