Quite true. I live in Naples, FL and watched the housing boom and bust and we're in recovery - doing fine thank you, but for a couple of years, before investors got the taste of vomit out of their mouths, it was strange. I remember the stock market crash of 2001-2 I think? I forget. Thankfully I was in DRIP mostly indexed funds, so I was able to pick away at it for 13 years while starting up a few businesses from here after leaving a nice secure job in NJ. I used it up but it worked. It's all a game.
