I never liked the tracker style, even from WAY BACK WHEN doing MOD files. It's weird 'cause I love working with spreadsheets... and the standard tracker interface *is* a spreadsheet.... just without the copy/paste/ fill-down values features. But I like the Pixitracker - sooo fast and easy. I was standing in front of Publix today (supermarket), waiting for 10 minutes. I downloaded the iOS version and by the time we were ready to go, I composed a song. [1]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W98m3HpUvzU It's like a musical note-taking machine. That's what I needed. I'm not writing long songs - I don't even USE any music composition software on the computer. I use Audacity a lot... but nothing that makes music... I don't like fiddling around. I just want to get the idea out of my head before it's gone, and then DONE. Thought collector. I'm excited 'cause I've literally waited decades for something with these kinds of ergonomics. And yes, it's similar to Mario Paint. That's why it's so quick. I just discovered it this morning. Probably why I'm still so enthusiastic tongue emoticon O_O MML! I was looking for that and didn't know the name of it! O_O I made a lot of music with this thing for my Tandy Color Computer 2. using Orchestra 90 CC. I was pro.. little did I know it would be a DEAD language in a few years. But I remember Microsoft BASIC's PLAY was similar.. but I dont' remember the semantic differences. Now that you've given me the name I was missing (MML) I have to do some research and compare. I loved being able to type in the notes easily. I've experimented with ABC - wrote a few songs with that - but that wasn't quite 'it" although it was close. *I was smart even when I was 12 years old. Even though I had the code backed up on data cassette, I made sure I *also* recorded it to my cassette recorder as audio. UNFORTUNATELY, I only recorded *one channel* as I didn't have ANYTHING that did stereo, just a mono cassette recorder, and I didn't have a Y-adapter. [I was 12, no job, no cash]. So, I recorded the LEFT channel. Song is missing 1/2. But at least, 31 years later, I can show ppl what 12 yr old Kenneth Udut did tongue emoticon Cool - I'll have to compare MML to the Orch90 langauge to see if it blends. ['cause I was fluent in it at the time] - THEN I'll see if there's an equivalent in Minecraft 'cause.. those noteblocks are a pain. I *just* got mod for minecraft that lets me use the Rasberry Pi Python Minecraft on the PC - and while I don't know Python to program in it, it's easy enough to read and hack... and _maybe_.. just maybe, it'd be possible to recreate some of those experiences in the MC universe. ['cause, well, I like it - conceptually at least] and alas, my laptop doesn't have a proper line in. Radio Shacks are shut down - and I'm but an attenuator away.... and I *have it* but all my audio cables and converters are ... scattered. Finding a tiny little red RCA -> 1/8" plug that's... _somewhere_... ugh. I wouldn't want to buy another one just on principle, although it might be worth it if I find the data cassette somewhere... and.. it's not melted together tongue emoticon dang it... you've seen my NERD SIDE. Must...fold-it-back-in... must-not-expose...nerd....side.... come-back...*UGH* there. Nerd side properly hidden again tongue emoticon References Visible links 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W98m3HpUvzU
