People can talk about it all they like. I've watch groups of
   women debating over the intent of the husband/boyfriend of a
   woman who wasn't in the room at the time.

   They create this mythological Intent, debate over it, pulling in
   all sorts of data from many different sources.

   It's all rational, logical, and based upon the data presented,
   proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's really a ....
   [insert dramatic attribute here] who is going to... [insert
   dramatic future action here]

   They created a fiction. I believe this thing we refer as Society
   is likewise.

   Hence, the synonym I would use for Society is Fiction.
