I'm not even sure why I take that perspective either. I guess I've always been curious about "group behavior". Why do people in groups behave differently than when they're alone? They're still people in both cases. It's like the individual goes away and is replaced by something else. Baffled by it since I was 7 or 8 and first noticed it. Observing mean-girl behavior and how friends become fair-weather friends in small and large groups. I still find it fascinating. As I always had an "outside-looking-in" sense, I'd try to get their perspective from the outside by trying to understand the inside without actually becoming a full part of it. What is that "it"? I have no idea to this day.
