I usually think of LIFE as a slimemold that's about 4 billion
   years old. it works well for me because it lets me be a part of
   Life, Humanity, Gaia and all that good stuff, while ALSO just
   being a barely distinguishable cell that eats and poops and
   processes and gets reabsorbed into the organism. It lets me be
   as important as I want to be and as nothing as I want to be,
   depending on my mood at the time. It amuses me especially when
   talking to ppl on the internet. The slime mold also extends via
   wifi and wires and when two people are of like mind on a topic,
   it just means our chemical processing is in sync with each other
   across the span of the organism.

   In short, we're eating the same microbes (ideas) and having
   similar thoughts (food processing is at the same stage)
