Gosh, you guys read too much into it. It's a basic question
   little kids ask, and THAT'S when they get the lesson:

   "The word used for "knowledge of good and evil" is the same word
   used for "knowing men" or "knowing women". In other words, an
   intimate knowledge, gained by experience."

   In short, listening to authority vs disbelieving authority and
   having to try it yourself.

   I guess it's one of those "got lost in the translation" moments.
   In short, it's a trust issue. "Do you trust me? Great!" Oh, you
   don't trust me? Well, get the f. outta here then. Old Testament
   God was pretty Jealous.
   New Testament God wasn't Jealous 'cause humanity was finally
   mature enough for the message... so God thought anyway... might
   have been too soon God, I dunno. tongue emoticon
