I believe "reason" is fundamentally a "wrong word", given the
   light of discoveries in cognitive science and the ... I hate the
   term but have no better one yet... circuitry of the brain.

   But my approach tends to be that of etymology as well as
   movements of beliefs within subcultures (including the
   subcultures of the sciences, philosophies, religion etc) over
   time and searching for basis-of-meaning, so I am biased.
