As an affluent country that takes for granted it's affluence in
   the USA at least, a bit of name calling and taking a bit of
   responsibility for the actions it took to get there isn't an
   unreasonable thing to ask.

   Do I feel personally responsible for the bad actions of the
   past? No. Yet, I also am not personally responsible for the good
   actions of the past. If I am benefiting from the good actions of
   the past, the least I can do is acknowledge that my good stuff
   came with a price paid by others. It's not unreasonable.
