They certainly seem to at times. By abstracting the collective
   away from the members of the collective and considering them a
   single UNIT, they EFFECTIVELY have a collective brain.

   but do they really? Not to me. They're still collections of
   people who are protected by their actions by a ridiculous
   shield.
