The model I'm trying to come up with is one that makes sense to me, one that I can explain easily enough (the double-loop learning, which I later found out was "feedback loops" and hysteresis .. or is it feed-forward... ugh I forget - anyway - that fit perfectly with how I perceive things. Then when I came across embodied cognition it kinda tied it together. That was the first time I came across a "hey, we're getting this figured out in a novel way" that I could stand behind. As much as I wanted to stand behind computational theory of mind and stand behind holographic mind and stand behind the ecosystem/environmentalist viewpoint... they were all missing 'something', so I kept searching. I'm still looking but once I realized that what I needed to focus on was appropriate metaphors while recognizing their limitations and being to explain their limitations... that was key.
