Well I look at this way: at 16, they're still in school, so
   there's a chance (a hope) that lessons learned about the
   functioning of government and elections can be _directly_
   applied to something that makes a difference. But the longer
   you've been out of school and the more real-life gets in the
   way, the more influenced you are by all the opinions floating
   around you.
