I started doing it in the early 1990s at a job I was in. There was a laser printer nearby, and every morning I would open up Word and think up a clever original quote in a pretty font and nice box, print it out, and post it in my cubicle. Every day, people would stop by and see what my latest one was, which I'd put on the outside of my cubicle. The others I kept inside. [I have them in a folder somewhere] But there was one guy at the office that gave me evil glances everytime I walked by. I never learned why, until one day - my last day. On my last day at the job (a temp job - lasted about a year or two), I had to find out. I flagged him down. He walked authoritatively towards me, chest sticking out and just nodded his head in a "what do you want?" gesture. I said, "It's my last day here. I just have to ask: I know you didn't like me and I'm fine with that but I have to know: Why?" He started chuckling, looked away and then looked straight at me in the eyes. "Honestly? You really want to know?" "Yeah I do" I replied. "Ok, it's those stupid quotes you put up here. I saw them EVERY time I walked by. You made me think. I hated you for that." and he walked away quickly. True story. Awesome day smile emoticon
