Nostalgia just ain't what it used to be. [yes, that's a joke tongue emoticon ] I'm a "child of the 80s". I'm grateful to have been-there, done-that but I honestly prefer the world today. I like music from almost every era, except for a PARTICULAR style of funk in the 70s that oddly enough I enjoy in its faster EDM remixes today. Some songs haunt me like a curse. Generation Z loves dragging the trash-heap songs of the 80s for their memes, and I suppose my Gen deserves it. I don't worry: The 90s will get their turn soon when Gen Z gives way to... I dunno, Gen AA? [following Excel Spreadsheet Logic here tongue emoticon ] But I don't feel any particular pull to the 80s. I remember libraries and library cards. I still go to libraries and sure, I miss the library cards and the randomness of them. But that's not what they were designed for anyway. I never use things as intended. Getting my modem in 1989 was the best thing ever for me. I wanted EVERYBODY on the PLANET to get online and enjoy what I did. Now they do. Dreams can come true smile emoticon
