   change? We have to pretend (useful fiction) that time doesn't
   matter in order to do so. == In theory that's true. We have no
   way to verify the subjective experience of a photon - just a
   mathematical convenience. Also, light rarely travels at the
   speed of light anyway. There's usually something in the way that
   slows it down somewhat, even if it's stray electron charges or a
