All my skepticism about how the "sport" of politics is played, nevertheless I believe that change *is* possible. Just go through changes that have happened in your lifetime that you never thought would happen. But they can. 17 year old Elijah Manley knows he can't *be* President - but there's NOTHING stopping him from Running for President - and maybe lowering the local voting age while he's at it. The change would affect local elections: precisely the places where political choices *do* affect daily life. But beyond his running and the issues he is fighting for, it's that someone is willing to stand tall and say, "This is what I believe in". Not just a comment on the Internet. Not just sharing a Meme. Not just getting FB likes. But actually participating in the often convoluted political process to work for actual laws to change. This isn't putting a thing on your facebook profile picture to SHOW your support. This is somebody who is standing up to BE SUPPORTED. Much different place to stand than the comfort of a reply button and clicking a like emoticon It take guts to do what you're doing. [1]Elijah Manley for President 2016 - good luck to you, Sir. Let the hecklers mock as they do, you're doing a tough thing and a good thing: fighting for what you believe is the right thing to do and going through the process.
