Yeah - you'd have to see some side-by-side comparisons to features to be sure but I suspect they're equally capable units. For me it's the live changes you can do that's so much fun. Minimal setup required - just start playing and fiddle with the knobs ''til you get a sound you like. And after not much time, you can figure out what everything does without having to know any music theory. [I took an electronic music class in 1990 and played with an ARP and Moog.. but I honestly didn't care about the wave functions and stuff... I just wanted access to the ancient analog synths with the patch cables along with their multitrack recorder. Totally worth it] == my horrid final project for the class. Programming the sequences was fun, no idea how to do it now, 25 years later. I think I barely knew what I was doing THEN either... it was two separate keyboards I was using, patch cables everywhere... no idea how I did now... but I passed so I guess it was good enough for the teacher. == well, I hope you didn't get past 4:30 then... even on the big-reel 4 track --> cassette --> computer, the ear piercing tones remain... ugh... lol - I was 18 yrs old. Then again, I'd make almost the same now. I haven't changed. I like annoying noises. === I just wanted to get this stuff OFF cassettes collecting dust and get them "out there" somehow. Still have dozens of cassettes of piano playing, Korg stuff - from age 8 onwards. I hate the fact that they're just collecting dust, magnetic fields moving the particles around, disintegrating. Gave up on trying to "do songs" a long time ago. Too much pressure smile emoticon I just enjoy myself. == Yeah, I'm not a fan of most computer music software. I mean I kinda understand it, but it seems very SLOW and tedius. I like on-hand, fast, speedy. I like built-in stuff better too. [1]http://www.warmplace.ru/soft/pixitracker/ is the only computer synth I kinda like. Works like mariopaint - chiptunes. SO fun to use. Oh Ill have to find a pic of my fostex... I PROBABLY have it in a box somewhere unless I sold it on eBay a long time ago and forgot. == References Visible links 1. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.warmplace.ru%2Fsoft%2Fpixitracker%2F&h=KAQEp_q0s
