hm. I like byzantine iconography 'cause I was involved with the eastern orthodox for a few years and know how to read the symbolism in it. I like artistic environments more than pieces: the grand architecture of churches or impressively large indoor spaces for public use - the inside of the Port Authority in NYC always impressed me. The layout of rooms impresses me when it's creative in a building. But pieces...artists. - I guess you mean painters in particular. I like certain colors when I see them. Ultramarine blue, when it shows up in a painting pops out at me and I'm instantly in love with the rest of it. I like some of the stuff that came out of the 16th century netherlands, I think it was. I can't think of their names - they did some of the hyper-real stuff; you could feel the softness of the cheeks on their faces just looking at them. I appreciate practical genres of art; anime and animation in general (western and eastern alike); the techniques used that end up satisfying the entertainment needs of millions of people on a regular basis. Starry Starry night - I always liked that piece. Not everything he did, but I liked that one. Eh, I'm picky I guess. I went through a time where I really liked surreal art - I think everybody does, especially as a teenager. I think everybody's got a few Dali favs. Oh Escher of course. Pencil stuff anyway.
