My fine motor skills stink. Any soldering I end up doing is cold solder. _But_ I remember taking stuff apart and fixing things that are broken many times in my life, going through schematics, parts lists, troubleshooting and down to a certain level (tiny screws and wire wrapping/clips/popping chips in and out are my limit of acuity), and given enough time, I can fix a lot of things. Yet, you're not supposed to. Think about how silly that is: You own something, you should be able to fix it. But no. http://motherboard.vice.com/en_ca/read/a-new-advocacy-group-is-lobbying-for-the-right-to-repair-everything
