It's possible that Western civilization's general adoration of
   "youth" over "old age/wisdom" stems directly from our western
   Philosophy roots. It would be an interesting cross-cultural
   study across the span of time, perhaps a cultural infection *so
   deep* that neither men nor women of any era in the past 2500
   years in Western Civilization can possibly escape completely
   from it.
