I tried making my dot-matrix printer do braille by using very
   thin paper and repeating the same patterns over and over again
   without ink back in the early 90s. It worked sort of. I was
   gonna make it into a 3D printer too by using a resin based ink
   and having the platen move backwards with a stepper motor but
   then I realized I hated soldering. -
