I have no trouble with you calling them out on it: I'm glad you
   did, as I was getting a one-sided view.

   Now I have the other side.

   The thing is: Both sides are saying, "Our values are being
   attacked".

   I'm just saying, "Stick with the plan. American Secularism for
   all of its flaws, works." We have a working status quo already.

   Escalation to "hate crimes" just plays into group v group
   fighting. At the same time, I believe in equal freedom of
   speech.

   If you want to express your opinion that this is a hate crime,
   they too have the right to express that they believe it was a
   hate crime.

   I just think teachers should be more careful.... and I wish
   media would stop fueling this stuff. I got sucked into it too
   but my take was on teacher flaw.
