 I came to New York a day early and go an AirBNB in Jamaica Queens.
 Thursday I go to St Johns and check in to on campus housing for 
 HOPE XV.  Excited for the conference but not excited about moving 
 around New York with my luggage.  
 
 I'm glad I gave myself a day to acclimate to the timezone and the 
 weather. It's much more humid than back home, but not unbearable. 
 Trading a 35C High for a 30C day is ok. The annoyance and thing to
 know ahead of time is that you're going to be sweaty so dont fight
 it.

 Woke up around 9 am and went back to sleep until almost noon. Took
 a shower and prepared for the aNONradio show.  Decided to go check
 out the bakery in Manhattan that Carlton suggested called Veniero's
 Pastry.  Took about an hour and some to get there.  Tried to get a 
 line up at local barber shop but they told me they were closing. 
 I got the vibe that they didn't want me to come back. I got a thing
 called a diamond Baci. It was really good. I then visited a Mexic-
 an themed bar but despite the sign advertising beer and tacos I 
 only was able to buy 2 beers before I gave up. Bought two slices 
 of pizza from a 1.50 a slice pizza place.  Apparently there was a
 stabbing saw a memorial.  Then took subway and buses to get back.
 GPS as usual was frustrating, but on the plus side Transit.app 
 held up well. Ok time to sleep and then tomorrow is Volunteer
 Day! 
 
 PS - I'll put photos up on the sdf gallery and will likely, do 
      that a day or two after the actual text post.
