date Sun Jun 22, 2025 09:53:38 CST It's the half-way converted who suffer the most When you're using Windows, Linux users won't even bother talking to you, let alone arguing with you about which operating system is the best and why. As a Linux user, you won't be bothered by other Linux users either, because you're on the same team. It's the half-way converted people who are curious about Linux and are considering it who are having a hard time in the community, it's the noobs who just started using Linux who suffer the most. They have already learned about the basics, they have already agreed to the advantages, but let's say they are not yet aware of all the security riks - they have a firewall installed, yes, they make sure their system is always up to date, yes, they might even do regular backups. So basically, they do everything the whole Linux community always complains about the loudest. And if every Windows user did what a new Linux user is doing, the whole world would already be a better place. But then Linux users blame you for not using GPG for your emails, they blame you for using a regular password instead of generating ssh key pairs, and then if you do use ssh keys, they blame you for using RSA instead of Ed25519, and so on. So, if you're new to Linux, don't tell anyone about it, just enjoy.
