# Screen Time

## How It Started
"Screen time" has been a pervasive issue for a few years now,
but I recall in the late 70's, my parents were concerned
about the time I spent watching just the 3 1/2 channels on
our Zenith, and in the 80's, time spent on a TV screen
hooked up to cable or a game console, or a CRT monitor
hooked up to a machine with a dial up connection so slow it
seemed that talking on the phone was faster. Soon my parents
replaced that problem with a new one when I got my first
guitar, but that's a whole different story.

## How It's Going
13 year old me probably would have thought this sounds cool,
but today at my job I am staring at 3 screens all day, and
occasionally answering emails or joing a Teams meeting on a
phone for that same job after hours. Just like everyone else
around me. And ironically, while I am doing this I look
forward to staring at a linux screen when I get home, and on
specific nights, watching the game on a TV screen.
